Game Notes: Rip City Remix (5-3) vs. G League Ignite (0-12), Jan. 22, 6 p.m. PT

The Remix will host a two-game series against the G League Ignite in Chiles Center in Portland this Monday and Wednesday.

Match-up History:

The Remix played the Ignite twice already this season during the showcase cup, going down 0-2 during a two-game series in Henderson, Nev.

Notable:

FRESH FACES: The Rip City Remix acquired Scottie Lewis from the player pool on Jan. 20. He has two years of G League experience after spend­ing some time as a Two-Way Player with the Greens­boro Swarm in 2021-22. He had a season-ending injury in the summer of 2022 that prevented him in recording any minutes during the 2022-23 season.

The Remix also acquired D’moi Hodge in a trade with the South Bay Lakers in exchange for a 2025 First Round Draft Pick on Jan. 19. Hodge is playing in his rookie season, appearing in 16 games with the SB Lakers, averaging 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Last week, the Remix acquired Jazian Gortman from a trade with the Wisconsin Herd in exchange for Malachi Smith on Jan. 12. Gortman is in his rookie year, and previously played with Overtime Elite. He has played in 18 games this season with the Herd, averaging 6.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

ANSWERING THE CALL: The Portland Trail Blazers called-up Remix guard Taze Moore on Jan. 20 to a 10-Day contract. He is the first Remix player to officially be called-up to sign a NBA contract. The Remix made a trade with Texas Legends on Jan. 11 to acquire Moore in exchange for draft picks. Moore has one year of G League experience and av­eraged 8.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game with the Legends this season.

THROUGH THE BLUE: The Rip City Remix defeated the Oklahoma City Blue in back-to-back games at Chiles Center. On Jan. 14, the Remix won 99-95 with Taze Moore hitting the go-ahead three-point shot with 26 seconds remaining in his Remix Debut. On Jan. 15, Rip City scored 44 points in the first quarter on Jan. 15 (Most of any quarter this season). The Remix never let the Blue take the lead a single time in the game with the help of George Conditt scoring a team-high 22 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

MEXICO MAYHEM: The Rip City Remix took the second game of the back-to-back visit to Mexico City to defeat the Capitanes 118-110 on Jan. 7. Seven of the eight available Remix players scored in double-figures. Despite being short handed, the Remix never let the Capitanes lead after 7:49 remaining in the third quarter.

The Remix had their highest scoring quarter of the regular season, dropping 44 points in the first quarter ... George Conditt led Rip City with 22 points, three rebounds and two assists ... Ashton Hagans followed with 20 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.

RIP CITY REMIX vs OKLAHOMA CITY BLUE ... JAN. 14, 2024 ... W, 99-95

Rip City defeated Oklahoma City in their first ever meeting, 99-95. Antoine Davis led the team with 21 points and three rebounds. Taze Moore scored the go-ahead three-point basket with 26.8 seconds remaining in his first game with the Remix. Quinton Rose and Ashton Hagans both contributed 16 points each in the win.

RIP CITY REMIX at MEXICO CITY CAPITANES ... JAN. 7, 2024 ... W, 118-110

The Remix stormed back to take the second game of the back-to-back against the Mexico City Capitanes, 118-110. George Conditt scored a season-high 27 points, 24 rebounds and two assists ... Antoine Davis followed with 26 points and three assists ... Of the available eight players, seven scored in double figures.

RIP CITY REMIX at MEXICO CITY CAPITANES ... JAN. 6, 2024 ... L, 132-124

The Rip City Remix fell in the first ever match up against the Mexico City Capitanes, 132-124 ... In his first start for the Remix, Antoine Davis scored a season-high 28 points ... Seven of eight active Remix players scored in double figures, and three scored 20+ points: A. Davis (28 points), Conditt (23 points) and Alex Reese (20 points).

RIP CITY REMIX AT SALT LAKE CITY STARS … JAN. 4, 2024 … W, 126-122

The Rip City Remix defeated the Stars by scoring 38 points in the last quarter to come back from a 14 point deficit at the end of the third ... Justin Minaya led with a team-high 22 points ... Ashton Hagans (18 pts., 14 ast.) and Rayan Rupert (19 pts., 16 rb.) both earned double-doubles.
