The Remix Sink the Lakers, 116-112

PORTLAND, Ore. – March 15, 2024 – The Rip City Remix defeated the South Bay Lakers 116-112 in Portland on Friday night. Antoine Davis scored 14 points in the first quarter, going 4-5 from behind the arc to push the Remix out to an early lead to end the frame. After going down by 10 points in the second quarter, Rip City clawed back to a 58-58 tie heading into the break.

The Lakers took their largest lead of the game with 47 seconds remaining in the third quarter to go up by 11, before the Remix responded with two three-pointers to cut the lead to five. The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle for the lead between the teams, until the Remix went on a 11-3 run with just under two minutes remaining.

The Remix were led by Antoine Davis with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists in the home victory. Alex Reese followed with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Kevin Knox II recorded 17 points, along with nine rebounds and three assists. Jazian Gortman came off the bench to contribute a double-double with 13 points, a team-high 10 assists and seven rebounds in the win.

For South Bay, assignment player Maxwell Louis led the team with 24 points, three rebounds and four blocked shots. Bryce Hamilton followed with 21 points, seven rebounds and two steals in the loss. Shaquille Harrison contributed 17 points, along with team-highs in both rebounds (12) and assists (5).
